Torch Lake at 19 miles long is Michigan's longest inland lake and at approximately 18,770 acres is Michigan's second largest inland lake. March 15 - August 15, October 1 - November 15
For most of the open water season on Torch Lake we troll the deep water and catch a mixed bag of quality fish including Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and Lake Trout. Although trolling is the bulk of what we do there are a couple of option in the early spring and the fall for perch and burbot fishing. We target Yellow Perch in April and October with traditional perch fishing rigs baited with shrimp, wigglers, and minnows. We target Burbot on our most unique trip offering with jigging techniques throughout the entire month of April. Burbot put up a fantastic fight and are a great eating fish!
Elk Lake is about a mile and a half wide and nine miles long, and is located near the town of Elk Rapids. It has maximum depth of 192 ft making it Michigan's second deepest after Torch Lake.
April - August
Trolling in Elk Lake produces great catches of Lake Trout, Steelhead, Cisco and Atlantic Salmon during the fishing season.
Grand Traverse Bay is a bay of Lake Michigan formed by the Leelanau Peninsula in the northwestern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The bay is 32 miles long, 10 miles wide, and up to 620 feet deep in spots. It is divided into two arms, East Bay and West Bay by the Old Mission Peninsula.
August 15 - September 30
Grand Traverse Bay has one of the best deep water fisheries around. We target the highlights of the Bay's fishery that include Lake Trout, Cisco and Perch throughout the open water season.
Our open water season on the Bay starts in April when we target Perch, Lake Trout and Cisco. The perch fishing is typically good through the end of April and can produce some high quality catches. If you are looking for a bigger fish the bay has some fantastic Lake Trout fishing. Lake Trout fishing is typical good throughout our entire open water season on the Bay. Grand Traverse Bay has an amazing Cisco fishery where nearly every fish boated qualifies for a Michigan Master Angler. We target Cisco in April with jigging techniques and August - October with trolling techniques. It is not uncommon to catch a few salmon while trolling for Lake Trout and Cisco!
